Learn to See the Light

Small groups, real shoots, and everything I know — shared generously.

Hand arranging printed photographs on a wooden table

Beginners & beyond

Cameras down first. Eyes open.

Every Tidewrack workshop starts without a single camera — just windows, faces, and noticing where the light falls.

Then we shoot: live models, real locations, and gentle critique over lunch. Groups never exceed eight, so nobody hides at the back and everybody leaves with photographs they are proud of.

  • Maximum eight students per date

Workshop questions

Do I need a professional camera?

No — any camera with manual mode works, and mirrorless bodies can be borrowed from the studio for the day. Just bring curiosity.

Will I really get to photograph models?

Yes, every workshop includes at least two styled shoots with professional models, plus portraits of your fellow students.

What if it rains?

We shoot anyway — the atelier has glorious north-facing windows, and overcast light is a portraitist’s gift. Outdoor portions move under cover.
